About this course

The course Tipologías Discursivas Escritas - Inglés VI aims at strengthening and consolidating what you have learned along the previous levels of English, but focuses on the development of your reading and writing skills.

Current views in the teaching of reading and writing skills agree on the principle that for you to be a good reader, you need to read a lot. Also, there is a general agreement that reading and writing cannot be taught in isolation but in tandem.

Along the following weeks, we will read "background readings" and "activity worksheets" which are instructional in scope and provide the framework to our course. This is important considering you are going to be a language teacher in the future. We will also read different texts from other fields and areas of knowledge and we will also read short stories and other brief literary forms. Yet, a lot of reading will be done independently by you, outside the classroom and according to your interests.

Please take a look at the syllabus of the course. On the tabs in the upper part of this window you will find more information on the evaluation, activities, course calendar and materials.

Welcome.

  1. Good morning Mr. Mayora,
I would like to be in this course, is it possible?
I'm in the parallel course but I didn't like the terms of evaluation and Mr.Arboleda is unwilling to change it.
    Thank you so much.

  2. Hi Daniella. I have no problem as long as changing course (or groups) is ok within the university rules and norms. Besides, did you read my assessment guidelines well? Are you sure you are going to like them?
